The importance of keeping your bucket full

What do we mean when we say to keep your bucket full?

We have to think of ourselves as a bucket. If your bucket is empty, there is nothing to give. If we keep filling it up, we always have something to give!

The stresses of day-to-day life & overtraining, can end up leading to a burn out, chronic fatigue and injury. This is when we don’t give ourselves the right tools for our body to recover, leaving our buckets drained.

What do I need to do to keep my bucket full?
- Getting into a good sleep routine.
- Making sure your nutrition is what your body needs. Your Patch coaches are always here to guide you with this! Read our ‘Pillars to Recovery’ to give you an insight on how important nutrition really is to your recovery!
- Allow your body to recover, listen to it, and don’t over work it.
- Drink plenty of water!

There are plenty of ways you can track your body’s recovery. Using your MyZone belt during workouts can help show your effort. There are so many apps and products to further manage your bucket, such as Oura rings which help you to monitor your sleep quality. You also don’t need to buy anything! Focus on the basics first in the list above, actively try the guides we have given you, and work hard to make them your reality!
